CREW SCUTTLEBUTT LIVE CHAT ROOM and
General Horsing Around
You can post text here and it will stick for awhile, but
this page also functions as a chat room for meeting others
in real time, live! This means text is very transitional on
this page and will roll off rather quickly...sorry.
The difference between this page and the other pages at this
website; this page is a LIVE CHAT page and the other pages
are FORUM pages. You can reply to a forum page, but it just
sort of sits there until someone else posts new text. This page
'moves' and text rolls up and off rather quickly.
We couldn't make a site like this without encouraging a little
fun, whether it's cracking jokes about cancer treatment side effects
(being bald gives you an excuse to buy a new hat!) or laughing out loud
(typed LOL for you newbies), this room is a place to share stories
and tips and tricks live.
It is also a very serious forum and we won't tolerate bashing, flaming,
rude posts or spam posts for commercial sites or doctor's offices.
If you have a commercial
site that you wish to promote, please use a different forum (see left
sidebar menu for choices) and post your link there. You can refer to
that post here (i.e. go see the self-help forum for a discussion of
the benefit of onions), but please...no URLs and links on this page; Just live chat.
The best way to use this page is to:
- Drop in and start meeting people here, just as you would at a social function; introduce yourself and be polite.
- Next, figure out who you like and who you want to avoid. All chatrooms have 'loud mouth' visitors. Since this chat room is for cancer patients (and doctors etc.) we ask that you all be extremely polite and on your best behavior. Rude visitors will be banned immediately.
- Stay open minded and listen more than you type (speak). People come here to learn. Your opinion is just as valid as someone else's opinion. Speak your mind and then give them time to express their opinion.
- If you do not agree with someone, simply say 'I disagree' and remember they have a right to an opinion, just as you do too.
- Once you begin to trust someone, you might want o ask for their email address and get to know them personally. Many patients feel isolated and alone, as if they are the only ones dying of this tragic disease.
- YOU ARE NOT ALONE HERE! Drop in often, make friends, learn new tips and tricks and have fnn while you learn to beat this disease: YOU CAN.
That is the real goal
of this website.
